Heat Exchanger is one of the Structures in Final Factory.
Heat Exchanger Pulls in heat from the grid its connected to and transfers that heat to connected radiators. Can also dissipate a small amount of heat itself.
Heat Exchanger Functions and Mechanics[edit | edit source]
Heat Exchanger is a Station cooling structure.
By itself Heat Exchanger can dissipate just a little bit of heat, 1.0C /sec, but it serves as a hub for Radiators connection, each of those can dissipate 5.0C /sec.
Each Heat Exchanger have to be connected to the Station active points, its connection slot takes 2 blocks.
Each Heat Exchanger can have up to 3 Radiators, effectively cooling the station anywhere from 1-16 C/sec.
Heat Exchanger Tips[edit | edit source]
List of Tips for mastering the Heat Exchanger usage and production:
- For smaller Stations, having only Heat Exchanger is fine to have enough cooling capabilities.
- Heat Exchanger requires 2 wide connection to structures and is 3 blocks long.
- Radiators are also 2 blocks by 3 blocks but the connection to the Heat Exchange is centered on the 2 block wide side.
- Heat Exchange can be connected to any part of the station that has a 2 block or larger available connection point. This makes it easier to connect to larger stations since there are more placement options.
