Tips and Tricks is one of the Final Factory Guides. In this article we combined useful tips for Tips and Tricks from all over the internet to keep them in one place. Feel free to add yours.

Hotkeys Tips[edit | edit source]

  • Press R to rotate a structure or Blueprint. For structures, this can be done before or after placing it.
  • Press Q to sample a structure or static bot that your mouse is hovering over.
  • Press Shift+number to quickly access the bottom toolbar, the S stands for Shift.
  • Shift+Right Click to copy Station settings (like production settings or Defense Platform.pngDefense Platform range and ship request settings). Shift+Left Click to paste onto another station.
  • Left Click produces a single item, while Right Click is for bulk crafting, ordering five items at a time. This is particularly useful when you need to ramp up production quickly.
  • Ctrl+Left Click on structures or containers will pull a stack of resources from its storage without opening its inventory.
  • Right Click objects like Portal Gates or Obelisks to activate them.
  • Press X while hovering over a Rocket Adapter.pngRocket Adapter to take direct control of that station.
    • Press Q or E to rotate it while piloting.
  • Press F3 to hide your fleet of bots.
  • Press F5 to hide Cargo Drones so you can more easily build under them.
  • Press Ctrl+X, Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V to respectively cut, copy, and paste in a box you select. This also allows you to save the copied content as a blueprint.
  • Press Alt+D to mass-delete in a box you select.
  • You can dismiss alerts by right clicking them.
  • You can click items and put them in the toolbar instead of placing them in the world.

Overall Tips[edit | edit source]

  • If your Construction Bot.pngConstruction Bots didn't pick up everything you just deleted near you with Ctrl+X or Alt+D because far away Construction Bots are on their way and not yet optimized for travel time, do the following:
    • 1: Press Alt+D
    • 2: Select the stuff queued to be picked up that didn't already get picked up.
    • 3: Press Alt+D again.
    • 4: Select the stuff once more.
    • 5: Your personal drones will now try to pick everything up again
  • The tutorial guide in the beginning gives you a bunch of research points, and just clicking "complete step" gives them to you, you don't actually have to do the steps.T
  • Once you have researched Rocket Adapters/mobile stations, any station is mobile at 8 meters per second.

Station Building Tips[edit | edit source]

  • Armor Block.pngArmor Block can act as a Station Structure element, transferring Heat and Power without the Stability cost
  • Some structures are necessary to bind the structures of a station together. Two Mining Stations next to each other will count as two separate stations. To tie them together into one station that can share power, heat and stability you need structures such as the connector, strut, or armor blocks.
  • The Inserter Bots can pass over some structures, like solar panels, antimatter wings, repair centers and notably perpendicular connectors and struts.
  • Cargo Drones can pass over pretty much anything except Logistics Bays and other cargo drones.
  • Some structures, such as the Heat Exchanger, need to be attached directly to other structures to work. If they have more than one connection point they need them all to connect to said structure.
  • Other structures, such as the Antimatter Collector, need to be attached to a specific structure.
  • Armor Blocks among others do not cost Stability.
  • With the Power Receivers, you can essentially move power generation away from your assembly station so that it no longer burdens its Stability.
  • Duplicator Artifacts function as this game’s means of increasing production efficiency, they are very potent.
  • Struts work in an obtuse way but are very potent when trying to control stability, mostly rendering Station Cores unnecessary: They will reduce the stability cost of an equally sized or smaller station by 5, but only in one direction! So to reduce stability fully for 2 structures with 9 stability you would need more than 3 struts (2 remove 5, 1 removes 4). They do cost 1 stability each however. They’re also directional, so sometimes it helps to rotate them if they’re currently pointing so that they remove stability from a structure that’s already fully reduced. But Assemblers that only cost 4 stability can be reduced to zero stability cost with just 1 strut attaching it to another assembler! But 2 assemblers will need 2 struts to negate the stability of both assemblers instead of just 1

Combat Tips[edit | edit source]

  • If you find yourself constantly needing to attend to attacks it likely means your defenses are inadequate or your production of combat bots has halted or is just too slow.
  • Enemies will consistently attack in the same locations - once you find the same location being attacked consistently it may be wise to place more defenses there.
  • Enemy difficulty is currently controlled by global stability, which you can see in the statistics panel. This is most noticeable in the Relentless Mode of the game.
  • Before your base gets too large, it's recommended to research Knights. These combat bots are far more durable than the Bats.
  • Fleet Ship Requests for the player cannot get ships from Ship Assembler.pngShip Assembler that are 600 meter away and further. That makes replenishing fleet in far away areas a problem. Ship Yard.pngShip Yards on the other hand have infinite Fleet Ship Requests range and if placed next to the player who is too far away to get reinforcements can get the required ships in, that can be transferred to the player's fleet.
